Pluto: “Get Over Here & Look at this AGAIN!”

Pluto’s retrograde, what it means & how it’s affecting humanity.

Take a closer look at the hard truths

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Pluto begins its five-month retrograde in Aquarius. Namely, it begins with Gate 41.2, the Gate of Contraction, also known as the Gate of Decrease, in the 2nd Line.

It retreats further into Gate 41.1 on July 10, 2025.

And Pluto keeps stepping backward into Gate 60, the Gate of Acceptance (of Limitations), in the 6th Line, on August 20th, 2025,

before it stations direct again on October 13th, when it’ll go back through 60 and 4.

It finally catches up to where we are today on December 5th.

At which point, all systems are go.

So that’s the full retrograde at a glance. Let’s unpack what it all means and how it could be affecting us messy humans here on Earth in the next few months.

Pluto’s Significance

Pluto is the planet that rules the underworld, death, rebirth, and transformation.

Its role in the cosmos is to:

  • illuminate that which has been cloaked in darkness,
  • shine a light on all the ugly bits we really need to see,
  • show us where our foundations have been rotting,
  • and empower us to either fix them or tear the whole structure down so that we can rebuild from the ground up.

Keep all that in mind.

Pluto’s Position in the Sky Right Now

If you divvied up the sky as though it were a pizza, making each slice a zodiac sign, you’d have a twelve-slice pie.

One slice of that pie would be Aquarius.

Now take that one Aquarius slice and divvy it up into five smaller pieces.

One of those pieces is Gate 41.

(The others are 60, 19, 49, and 30. But those Gates are for another post.)

Gate 41, where Pluto’s hanging out right now, and has been since January, is very-Aquarian energy:

this energetic trait has the potential to find magic in the smallest of places, and to use that magic to launch itself to new heights.

See where it’s located in the human body, down there in the Root Center?

Do you have Gate 41 illuminated in your Human Design chart?

It’s reaching out toward Gate 30, the Gate of Feelings, also known as ‘Clinging Fire’, also known as the Gate of Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n Roll.

When a planet or star transits Gate 41, such as Pluto’s been doing, the vibe in the air has us getting hungry to experience all the juicy things in life that 30 always gets to feel.

It gives us an opportunity to gather our strength and replenish our reserves so that, one day, we can launch high into the sky and kiss the stars.

(See? Very Aquarius.)

And 41 also has us eager to express our emotions — but we have to do so wisely.

The real power of Gate 41 comes because it doesn’t just launch itself into any ol’ risky behavior. It doesn’t spew emotional energy all over the place.

This Gate of Contraction crouches down to become really small first.

It pulls itself in nice ‘n tight.

It soaks up all the force and pressure from the ground below.

It’s careful about expressing emotions willy-nilly.

And 41 is ace at playing hide ‘n seek.

Like a kid.

It’s super good at hiding in small places. Biting its lip so it doesn’t burst out laughing and risk giving up its hiding spot.

From that perspective, tucked away in a tiny nook beneath the bushes, 41 has the energy to study the small, mundane details in the dirt —

all those potato bugs, the flecks of mica sparkling in the soil, the ants busying themselves in their sandy hill —

Gate 41 notices everything that others usually miss.

This is where we are now.

Eventually, Gate 41 hears the seeker coming, but it knows to wait for the perfect moment to leap up and tear off running to base, to freedom.

What an invigorating experience!

But 41 must feel strong and nourished enough before it’s ready to launch into all the edgy, invigorating stuff.

It has to have taken the time to study the movement of those ants first.

It needs to have stayed quiet for long enough to have not been discovered.

So whenever it does launch to freedom, it must do so in the right timing.

So we find ourselves here, today.

Later this year and into 2026, we’ll get to that oh-so-luscious, Aquarian-laced, freely invigorating, rush-of-experience stage — but not until Pluto hits the 41.5 or 41.6 stage of its transit.

Since it began this trek in Gate 41 back in January, we’ve only gotten to 41.2.

We’re still in early-stage Decrease/Contraction.

Remember, all the planets and celestial bodies travel through six stages of every Gate.

So it’s been a slow-moving season of Pluto in Gate 41, causing us to have to contract:

to crouch down, hide, examine the bugs in the soil while we wait, look at our shadows, face all the gory details of the dark underbelly we were afraid to grapple with prior.

Since Pluto first moved into Aquarius in November, starting with Gate 60 (Acceptance/Limitations), we’ve been getting ourselves ready to be ready to be ready, as Abraham-Hicks always says.

We’ve had plenty of chances to go within, nourish, prepare, and strengthen.

A TON of us have been doing that. But not everyone.

Now, where this Pluto retrograde begins, at Gate 41 in the 2nd Line, we’re getting even more chances to retreat into solitude, to be sensible, to get honest with ourselves, to show flexibility (otherwise, how can you fit into teeny-tiny hiding places?).

But 41.2 is not a time for taking risks or blasting our emotions everywhere.

Not yet.

There’s more introspection that needs to take place.

We’ve not seen all the gory details Pluto has unearthed, just yet.

Or we’ve refused to grapple with them.

It’s as though Pluto’s rolling its eyes at us numbskulls, clearing its throat, tapping its foot, and saying what it’s been saying all along, just louder this time for the people in the back:

“Get back over here and look at this. Really look at these receipts I’ve been showing you, again, and tell me what you see. Maybe you’ll get it through your thick skull this time!”

We’re being asked to continue being patient and “doing the work.”

We’re getting a second chance to actually see, this time, what Pluto has been bringing to light.

Yes, we’re all super eager to jump to new heights. But that’s late-stage Gate 41 stuff.

We cannot get there without building this crucial foundation first;

We won’t get to launch to freedom without re-examining the rot.

Without extracting all the accurate information first.

Some of us have not properly or fully nourished ourselves.

We have been spewing our uncontrolled emotions all over the place.

We’ve been trying to spring upward without adequate strength.

We’ve taken risks that caused us to fall flat on our faces.

So we must go back to the drawing board and dig deeper into the dirt.

In the meantime, patience and self-reflection will be key.

What tiny details did we miss since January when Pluto entered Gate 41?

And then, come July, we’ll get to ask that question again.

What tiny details did we miss last November when Pluto entered Gate 60?

Everyone’s getting another chance to go within and really reexamine some things; to reconsider our circumstances, re-review the evidence.

‘Cause we’re being forced to reckon with some ugly stuff.

It strikes me that this could be the opportunity we’ve been waiting for to finally get on the same page, as a Collective.

To join hands, bring people into the fold who weren’t ready before, to unite the masses.

So…sit tight. Hunker down. Get grounded. Be patient. Look for the evidence you may have missed last time.

And prepare to jump high into the sky.

Eventually.
