Gate 2, the Gate of the Receptive: Trusting your inner GPS to carry you along the correct path
The week ahead dares us to trust in Divine Guidance and allow our inner GPS to carry us to goodness as we each travel along our own, unique paths.
We’ve got opportunities galore to improve our listening skills, align with our inner yearnings, practice gratitude and manifest abundance over the next six-ish days.
Grab your Human Design chart, spread it out alongside your family members’ charts on the dining table like they’re bingo cards, take a look at the highlighted numbers on each person’s bodygraph to follow along, and see who has the number 2 highlighted in the G-Center, as shown in the diagram below.
If you *don’t* have Gate 2 lit up in your chart, then take this week as an opportunity to just get a taste for it:
you’ll have the chance to experience what it feels like, because the Sun is influencing all of humanity with this energetic frequency. So, experience away! Observe this energy coming up in your life. Notice how you feel and how others behave under its influence.
But remember: if you don’t ‘have’ Gate 2 lit up in your chart, you aren’t meant to hold onto its energy permanently. It’s not native to your body, so just observe how it may be affecting you.
Commit to dusting it off once the transits pass. Let go of that energy and simply be aware of the influence it had upon you.
And hold compassion in your heart —
because once you’ve acknowledged the energy’s effects and realized what it conjures up, you’ll understand how other people in your life, who do have this energy active in their bodies at all times, transit or not, are built to walk through the world.
You’ll totally get why they look at and approach life in the way that they do.

The Sun transits Gate 2, the Gate of the Receptive
From 7 a.m., Saturday, May 3, through 2 a.m. Friday, May 9, the Sun transits Gate 2, the Gate of the Receptive, also known as the Direction of the Self.
Throughout this six-day stretch, we’ll be emboldened to enjoy the ride of life by allowing Divine Guidance to carry us to the next-right-thing.
Under the influence of this supremely Yin (feminine) energetic frequency, we are empowered to be the receivers of cosmic support.
We can dare ourselves to relax into the truth that we are being carried by grace and guided toward abundance.
Gate 2 is asking us to be humble, not proud;
appreciative, not entitled.
The Receptive, a.k.a., the Direction of the Self, is Individualistic energy that wants us to float along in the stream of goodness,
to not worry about all the details of ‘how’ we’ll reach our destination,
but to just believe that everything will fall into place at the right time.
When we have the courage to trust our Inner GPS — that sense of deep yearning about what we really want out of life, where we really want to go, how we truly want to show up in the world — and we walk in that direction, even if it’s offbeat or weird, we become deeply empowered and rich with resources.
This is supremely Abraham-Hicksian stuff right here.
It’ll be a great week for practicing manifestation.
For folks who ‘have’ Gate 2 defined in their Human Design charts, this “abundance mindset” comes naturally to them — and they can carry it long into adulthood *if* they’ve been allowed to exercise it from an early age.
But oftentimes, children are taught never to put all their trust into the whims of luck; to let their path ahead simply unfold in real time.
How many adults have you heard grew up knowing they had no option but to become a lawyer or a doctor because of what their parents dictated?
And how many of them do you know who are actually happy?
The Sun’s transit in Gate 2 is here to remind us that we’re all following our own journey, and that we’re here to experience it.
So, parents, let us try our damnedest not to squash our kids’ dreams this week.

We humans (especially us Americans) tend to insist that one must pull themselves up by their bootstraps, work insanely hard if they want to earn a good living, and force circumstances into place if they want good things to happen in life.
We couldn’t possibly give up the reins, now could we?!
This is completely counter to the wisdom embedded in Gate 2.
The Receptive is, well, a receiver. It trusts. It allows. It manifests effortlessly.
It’s the voice inside each of us that’s screaming: “Relax! Everything’s gonna work out! Go within, listen to your deepest desires, and chase after them! Stop trying to follow someone else’s path or listen to advice that was never meant for you. Follow your own path and the breadcrumbs will keep appearing before you. ”
How often do we ignore that voice, though? Sooooo often.
So take this six-day trip through Gate 2 to collaborate with the Universe and show up as your most authentic, courageous self.
Give yourself a chance to learn what this feminine flow energy feels like.
This is the stuff of Passenger Consciousness.
Recognize that you don’t really have control of the wheel. Perhaps now’s a good time to practice letting go.
Expect big questions to come from everyone, like “Who am I?” and “Where am I going?”
Note in the diagram below that Gate 2 is located in the G-Center; that’s the energy center in each of us that’s responsible for processing the energy of our identity, our direction in life, and our capacity to love — both ourselves and others.
The G-Center also holds what’s called the Magnetic Monopole, which I like to call our Inner GPS unit. It’s a one-sided magnet always being pulled along by Source Energy. So…
Gate 2 requires authenticity and the freedom to follow its own course — however many zigzags that may take.
If it doesn’t, then it’s not free to receive the blessings and abundance of the Universe.
Which makes The Receptive feel thwarted, muffled, trapped, bound, and misdirected.
You’ll note that when 2 makes a full Channel, it reaches Gate 14 in the Sacral Center.
Gate 14 is the Gate of Power Skills: it is the relentless hard worker who has a bottomless cup of creativity and fuel; it’s the person who understands their sense of responsibility like no other; it’s the doer who almost never stops creating, producing and generating resources.
And that fuel ignites Gate 2.
2 has the direction; 14 has the power.
Together, they create the Channel of the Beat, nicknamed the Keeper of the Keys.
If a person with this Channel balances these energies well and aims to live in high-vibe, they’re empowered, unstoppable, and they know exactly who they are and where they’re going.
Do’s and Don’ts for this transit:
Do:
- be patient and allow yourself to get creative in the way you express yourself
- let yourself to be carried forward along the correct path
- stay open to accepting support on your journey
- be responsible with money and resources
- work on lack mindset or scarcity issues
- allow abundance in & respect it
- be humble
- listen to your intuition
- trust the pings that give you a clear sense of direction
- allow your kids to do the same, even if where they want to go is not what you’d hoped for them
- stay in integrity by demonstrating your trustworthiness
- give credit where credit is due
- practice gratitude and appreciation
- try looking at life as a bountiful journey; a river of perpetual abundance
- enjoy the pleasant surprises and serendipities that unfold
- look for the breadcrumbs
Don’t:
- let others knock you off your path — even if where you want to go seems super weird
- spend money carelessly
- ignore your intuition
- hide your true desires
- let your ego take over/be too proud
- refuse &/or abuse the kindness/generosity of others
- be surprised if your kids proclaim, “I don’t need you! I can do it all by myself!”
- hold power over others
- use your inside/specialized knowledge as leverage to manipulate
- take impulsive action
- lie about what you really want to do/who you really want to be
- force circumstances into place when you know deep down they’re not serving you
- be a braggart
- take things from others that’ll only benefit you
- forget to show gratitude and appreciation for any small bit of good luck or abundance you already have
How to Stay Grounded During this Transit
Stay grounded throughout this Sun transit by stabilizing into the energy of creative Self-Expression.
With the Earth sitting in Gate 1 while the Sun shines high in Gate 2, anytime you find yourself spinning out, consider where you may be muzzling your need to be authentic. Or consider who may be forcing you to show up as someone other than your real self.
Tell them to go fly a kite.
And you?
Wave your freak flag. Don’t be shy. Don’t hide your truth.
You do you, boo.
