Reviewing what went wrong, quiet contemplation, shocking news, and more this week.

The week ahead will have us looking backward before we can move forward — collectively as a society; within our own selves; but also with our family members, right under our roofs.
Grab your Human Design chart, spread it out alongside your family members’ charts on the dining table like they’re bingo cards, take a look at the highlighted numbers on each person’s bodygraph to follow along and see who has what energetic personality trait active inside them at all times.
Grow compassion, deepen your understanding for one another, and open up new lines of communication as you learn what each number means,
because you, me, and all of humanity will get a chance to experience each of the energies I’m about to cover this week, because they’re being activated by the planetary transits happening now through May 3rd.
When you know, you know.

Note: The following energetic frequencies are being activated in all of us, whether they are indicated in our Human Design chart or not. If you “have” the energies I mention below, you’ll be familiar with their specific characteristics.
If you don’t “have” these energies indicated on your chart, consider these transits as opportunities to learn ‘how the other half lives’ and deepen your understanding about the people in your life.
And when the transits are over? Let the feelings they bring up go.
If the Gates we cover are not native to your body, they’re not your lesson to learn or your struggle to overcome.
Just learn from them. Build compassion for others. And don’t make these issues your “problem.”
As we learn about them, we understand what makes others tick, what their motivations are, why they behave in the ways that they do.

Here’s a quick snapshot before I do a deeper analysis of this week’s planetary transits through the Human Design Gates:
- Sun in Gate 24, the Gate of Return/Rationalization
- New Moon in Gate 24, Line 1
- Earth in Gate 44, the Gate of Alertness/Coming to Meet
- North Node in Gate 36, Crisis
- South Node in Gate 6, Conflict
- Mercury in Gate 21, Control, through April 30, when it transits into Gate 51, Shock
- Venus in Gate 25, Innocence
- Mars in Gate 31, Influence
- Jupiter in Gate 45, the Ruler
- Saturn in Gate 36, Crisis
- Uranus in Gate 8, Contribution
- Neptune in Gate 25, Innocence,
- Pluto in Gate 41, Contraction
The Sun transits Gate 24
As of 11:45 a.m. EST on Sunday, April 27, the Sun began its transit in Gate 24, the Gate of Return, also known as the Gate of Rationalization,
I’ll give you a full reading of what this energy means in a sec. But it’s important to note that we also had a New Moon in the same Gate yesterday, just a few hours after the Sun began its transit in Gate 24, at 3:31 p.m. EST.

The Sun and Moon’s loud-and-clear message, then?
Stop making excuses for bad behavior.
We’re hitting the reset button.
This is a new beginning.
Start off on the foot that feels best for you.
Stop justifying illogical reasons for continuing unhealthy patterns.
Only you know the right thing to do, at the right time.
Take a good hard look at what’s gone wrong in the past, and change what needs to be changed.
Learn how to admit where you screwed up.
Practice apologizing so you can clean the slate and move forward.
Commit to doing better from now on.
Let go of keeping yourself stuck, repeating the same old mistakes.
You’ll never know everything there is to know. At some point you have to just trust that Divine Guidance will carry you to the next right step.
Quantum leaps are possible — massive transformation is ahead.
But we cannot move forward without first reckoning with the role we have been playing in perpetuating toxic ideas and facilitating negative cycles.
Gate 24 is Mentally-pressurized, investigative energy that’s desperate to know why.
Check out the diagram above and note where 24 sits, in the Ajna — the Energy Center that’s responsible for processing our energy for coming up with calculations and analyses, for reasoning, deriving beliefs and opinions, and hypothesizing answers.
Gate 24, Return, when connected in a Channel, reaches Gate 61, the Gate of Inner Truth/Mystery.
61, you may recall, is big-thinker energy. It asks the hard questions about the meaning of life, why we exist, how we got here.
Folks who ‘have’ Gate 61 are often big into philosophy, spirituality, enlightenment, extra-terrestrial studies, and maybe even conspiracy theories.
They’re totes open to engaging with possibility and considering some very out-there concepts.
Meanwhile, 24, more logical and rational, is operating nonstop in the Ajna.
It’s busy, well, rationalizing, looking for evidence and facts, coming up with possible answers, trying to make things make sense.
So there’s a push-pull between 24 and 61. When they work together harmoniously in a Channel, we call it the Channel of Awareness.
But one without the other can create an imbalance.
When a person has the 61 by itself, they may be open to all possibility and totally excited about angels, aliens, and astrology.
But when a person has just the 24 by itself, they may be plagued by enormous pressure to come up with sensible rationalizations only; cold hard facts, logical figures, sense-making evidence.
(FYI: The chart image above depicting Gate 24’s location is Elon Musk’s Human Design. #wykwk)
So, in order to feel balanced this week, remember that you, your partner, your kids and your coworkers are all being pressured this week to make logical sense of things.
But that this impulse — this energy that’s coming at us from the Sun (and Moon) in Gate 24 — may be creating unnecessary mental stress.
So you need to think outside the box and engage with Divine Intelligence if you really want to understand why something is taking place.
This week, you’ll notice yourself and others trying to figure things out, leaving no stone unturned.
We may find ourselves going over and over and over past events, like a broken record,
until we can suss out what went wrong, how the patterns of our lives have been playing out, what pieces have been jamming us up that we need to stop doing, and what illogical behaviors really need to change.
Expect yourself, your loved ones, and everyone on Earth to be overthinking everything for the next six days.
To relieve yourself from the density of this transit, consider today, and this entire week, as an opportunity to practice going Zen.
It’ll be hard, but try your darnedest to empty your mind, let the unnecessary chatter spill out, and make space for Divine guidance to spill into your awareness.
Do’s and Don’ts for this Sun’s transit:
Do:
- allow yourself and your kids to play Sherlock Holmes; this is a good week for detective work
- let yourself express whatever creative inspiration is moving through you
- trust that ‘knowing’ will come at the right time
- remember that, no matter how much evidence/rationale you’re given about something, really ‘knowing it’ must come from deep within
- practice quieting the mind doing some meditation and/or breathwork to empty out your thoughts (teach pre-K kids to do this here)
- notice when you’re justifying people’s negative behavior: do so in a way that’s compassionate, with forgiveness and acceptance; but not to excuse them without consequences
- seek help and support for addiction/addictive behaviors
- trust that any evidence or information you need will flow in to help you make sense of something or understand when it’s time to make a necessary change
- enjoy doing some historical research & investigation into the mistakes of our ancestors
- learn from pattern recognition
- get plenty of exercise and even do head stands to release mental anxiety so you can sleep well this week
- try ocular meditation, i.e. gazing, and/or binaural beats to let your mind focus on something besides any ruminating thoughts
- disrupt toxic behavior and commit to doing better from now on
Don’t:
- forget to practice quieting the mind
- let yourself perseverate, ruminate, and allow your thoughts to keep skipping like a broken record
- rationalize away others’ bad behavior and poor treatment of you
- stay stuck in unhealthy/dangerous situations
- tolerate abuse or conjure up ‘good’ reasons for staying in a bad situation or continuing to do something that’s not good for you/others
- get fixated on something (this will only make you feel anxious)
- fall prey to addiction or beat yourself up for relapsing (seek help & move forward)
- let go of any rising fears of ignorance; i.e., don’t worry about not knowing enough, because you’ll never know all the things
- let your thoughts spin out of control
The Earth in Gate 44
Stay grounded throughout this Sun transit in Gate 24 by leveraging the gifts of Gate 44, the Gate of Alertness/Coming to Meet.
This is the deep, primal, intuitive awareness of your surroundings, of patterns, of what’s safe and healthy (and what’s not).

So, trust your instincts. If something — or someone — feels off, don’t disregard that feeling.
Turn and walk the other direction.
Shockwaves Hit: Mercury transits Gate 51, Wednesday, April 30th
Another big transit we need to talk about this week is Mercury shifting out of the Gate of Control, Gate 21, and into the Gate of Shock, Gate 51.
Huzzah.
Mercury rules communication, right?
So many power grabs and attempts to control us have been handed down this past week with Mercury in the Gate of Control. Announcements of more Executive Orders about who’s allowed to do what. Judges being arrested. Journalists under fire. Holy crap.
I dunno about you, but as Mercury shifts into the ate of Shock on Wednesday the 30th, I’m expecting some shocking announcements in the news cycle that’ll jolt us.

Not that that ought to surprise anyone. Things just could get more destabilizing than they already are before they settle down.
Perhaps we’ll learn something that’ll initiate us into the next phase of our existence.
Maybe the shock will be not hurtful for us, but rather, for this pure-evil regime.
I’m wondering if there’ll be a literal shock, like a power outage due to more intense solar flares or a transformer explosion somewhere…?
Bringing it closer to home, maybe we’ll receive news (an email, a phone call, a postcard or a letter from our kid’s teacher) that’ll be shocking.
There’s a chance our teens or pre-teens will shock us with some outrageous behavior.
God help us.
On the flip side, perhaps it’ll be us — calm, conscientious, normally clear-thinking adults — who communicate something shocking, jolting others into heightened awareness.
(Remember the Sun in Gate 24, though, jumbling our thoughts with all kinds of pressure to sense-make and rationalize…)
To refresh your memory on the deeper ins and outs of Gate 51, here’s a link to the post I shared when the Sun transited this energy earlier this month, which you can re-read, because it feels like that took place a thousand years ago.
Just remember — Gate 51 is, like, one of the most Divinely-connected Gates in the whole chart.
People who have this energy active in them from birth — though they may be shocking individuals — have enormous potential to be highly spiritual beings.
They are directly in touch with Source Energy.
Every shockwave initiates them into higher knowing.
So, while we work to stay sane and stable throughout this Mercury transit in 51,
as we brace ourselves for shocking news,
let us not forget that every jolt brings us closer to the heavens,
closer to Divine Oneness,
more in touch with God (Gaia, Allah, or whoever you pray to),
and more awakened to our spirit.

North Node & Saturn Still in Gate 36, But Venus Is Done Triflin’ With Crisis
The North Node and Saturn continue their transits through Gate 36, the Gate of Crisis, a.k.a., the Darkening of the Light, activating our Emotional Solar Plexus at this time with the energy for making space for renewal (or not).
The good news is that Venus has finally shifted out of 36, as of April 27th.
She’s the planet that helps us figure out what we value, what we see as beautiful, how we express our love.
Perhaps she’s done her work, then, showing us that Crisis is no way to love someone; that living in a state of fear (of everything coming to an end) is not what we value. That there’s beauty in the darkness — that we just have to look for the light.
Venus is getting comfy in Gate 25 now instead, the Gate of Innocence and childlike wonder (or not). It’s a juicy one.
Read more about Gate 25 on my Substack here.
Back to Gate 36: remember, this sucker can make a crisis out of anything.
It can go down every rabbit hole, pursue every possible explanation for something, and create emotional turmoil for itself and others throughout the process.
It can fear endings, having no idea what lurks ahead in the darkness and holding on for dear life to what is already, obviously, gone.

Or, the reverse can be true: 36 can embrace positive change. It can recognize that all good things must come to an end, and when they do, they create space for something even better.
They can allow the darkness to engulf them, show emotional awareness and stability despite it, and trust that the light will shine again once more to illuminate new possibilities, new growth and new beginnings.
The North Node is something we’re all hungry for but can never get enough of. Right now, that’s crisis. We seem to feed off of waking up each day and checking the news to see what new train wreck unfolded. Perhaps we can allow the demolition and destruction to take place, trusting this dark time will pass and that a new beginning will dawn.
The North Node finally leaves Crisis on June 13th.
Saturn is always giving us the smackdown. It’s the disciplinarian. It gives us guardrails and keeps us in line.
In Gate 36, it wants us to stop making everything into an emotional crisis and focus on being sensible and level-headed here so we can face this ending head-on and still have our wits about us when the dawn finally breaks.
Saturn leaves Gate 36 on May 4th!
Hang in there ‘til then!!
Creating Conflict Much? South Node in Gate 6
The South Node is still transiting Gate 6, the Gate of Conflict/Friction, through June 13th. This energy is also activating our Emotional Solar Plexus.

The South Node is something we’re trying to let go of; to move away from.
I like to call Gate 6 the Mama Bear/Tiger Mom of the chart.
She doesn’t let just anyone come near her babies, and she will put up a fight to keep those who are unfit, according to her feelings about them, out.
She expects whomever she does allow into the tribe and into her private space to be a devoted, loyal provider for the family/community;
i.e., Gate 59, the Gate of Sexuality, must demonstrate he’s not just a player but will stay true and loyal.
Talk about Tribalism.
This just screams red-hat.
With Gate 6’s energy for determining what constitutes a worthwhile union and this notion of setting boundaries around who we let in highlighting the South Node,
I see this transit as the Universe giving us a chance to decide whose side we’re really on,
and to let go of partnerships that are not serving us.
Maybe we could release the need for so much tribalism.
Perhaps by the time this transit ends in June, we’re going to be done, once and for all, putting up unnecessary borders and exclusionary boundaries that keep people out of our tribes.
(Can we please stop deporting innocent people, attacking Canada and threatening Greenland?)
Are we going to stay wedded to unhealthy, toxic partnerships?
Devoted to a cult?
Loyal to abusers?
Putting ourselves and our families and communities at risk by allowing a player to cross our boundaries?
Or are we instead going to align ourselves with likeminded people,
folks with whom we can share resources in a way that’s inclusionary and brings about mutual benefits?
In the high vibration, I believe this transit wants us to stop creating unnecessary conflict,
and make room to set healthy boundaries — at home, in our personal lives, and on the world stage —
that allow for constructive unions with others to flourish in a more inclusive way, so that we can cultivate functional partnerships and create a collaborative spirit that brings about new growth.
What do you think?
Who’s Influencing Whom? Mars holds in Gate 31
Mars continues its transit in the very-Leo energy of Gate 31, the Gate of Influence, activating our Throat Center. It stays there through May 5.
This is the energy for stepping into a position of influence and leadership because the will of the people put you there (or not).

Because Mars is igniting Gate 31, we may have some very big demonstrations of power moving into the forefront. So pay attention to the news cycle.
According to Gate 31’s wisdom, we don’t just assume power.
We’re either born with it, we’re elected to lead, or we’re appointed to lead.
Nobody gets to decide they want to have power and then just take it.
The Gate of Influence has us getting invited to lead because we’re naturally influential and we’ve won people over because we’ve shown our inherent goodness;
because others gravitate toward us and they genuinely like seeing what we’ll do next,
because they find us to be trend setters at the leading edge, so they like emulating us.
People typically reject leaders who force leadership on others, and who command the populace to follow their directives or else.
That kind of leadership is fake, and it never works out.
Under the influence of Mars in 31, we can be aggressively charming and charismatic, and become passionate about serving our people as an admirable figurehead.
We may get pretty amped up about wanting to be the voice of influence for our family, an organization, a particular cause or some group.
Notice how this vibration could be showing up in your household or at work, sure.
But I suspect we’ll see some big movements play out on the global stage caused by this energy.
With Mars being the thing that makes us aggressive and passionate, it makes sense that we’d be talking about the rise of fascism, oligarchs, technocrats and authoritarianism here in the U.S. and around the world.
Forced leadership. Stolen elections. Power grabs. Figureheads who carry influence but never earned it.
I anticipate these will be the big stories of the next couple of weeks.
The Big, Slow-Movers Hold Steady
Jupiter continues its transit in Gate 45, the Gate of the Ruler/Gatherer, activating our Throat with the energy for sharing resources (or not), through May 6th, 2025.
Uranus continues its slow turn through Gate 8, the Gate of Contribution, Throat-activating energy for leaving a legacy of goodness (or not), through July 10th of this year.
Neptune holds in Gate 25, the Gate of Innocence/Spirit of the Self, activating our G-Center with the energy for appreciating life with a sense of awe and childlike wonder (or not), through March 19, 2027.
And Pluto holds steady in Gate 41, the Gate of Contraction, Root-activated energy for creating magic out of almost nothing and seeing possibility in the most unlikely places (or not), through January 2, 2029.
