The planet of communication asks us to revisit who we want speaking on our behalf, as the voice of the people, as it hits Gate 31, the Gate of Influence.

Mercury retrogrades even deeper, now leaving Gate 33, the Gate of Privacy/Retreat, and backtracking into Gate 31, the Gate of Influence, beginning August 2nd, 2025.

During this phase, our Throat Centers will be activated by the energy of speaking as the voice for our people.

Mercury will be reviewing, in reverse order, the six frequencies of Gate 31 —

i.e., the charismatic leader; the figurehead; the representative voice of the people that gets democratically elected because the Collective trusts and nominates them —

through August 10th, and then stationing direct in Gate 31 on Aug 11.

At which point it moves forward through all six Lines of Gate 31 all over again before moving forward back into 33, then proceeding again into Gate 7, and then onward into Gate 4 by August 27.

So let’s take a look back at what was happening earlier this year, between June 28 and July 3, when Mercury first transited Gate 31, to see what what we might be revisiting in the next couple of weeks:

Wonder if we’ll see any of these issues resurface as talking points…

How about for you, personally? What was happening in your life at the end of June, in the first few days of July?

In particular, did any issues arise with regard to how you see yourself as a leader?

For instance:

• How have you been attempting to influence others?
• What trends are you setting or following?
• Who’s actually following you?
• Are you using your platform, your influence, your messaging, to represent the voice of the people?
• Who do you want to lead?
• Are you working to amplify what the masses need right now?
• Or are you only putting your voice out there for the fanfare, the likes, shares and follows?
• Are you jumping on bandwagons and being easily influenced?
• Or are you using your powerful voice to take people in a new direction?
• Do you just like putting yourself on camera, or do you actually have an important message that others need to hear so they can thrive?

Because those issues will need your eyes again during this transit so you can take a closer look at what’s really going on.

Expanding outward into the world stage, these same themes of leadership are going to be front and center for everyone.

Who do we have speaking on our behalf?

Who are we following?

Whose vision for the future do we choose to align ourselves with?

Whose voice is amplifying our needs, our desires, our best interests?

Who are we asking to represent us?

Who have we chosen to lead us?

What direction are they taking us?

For better or worse, Mercury will have us grappling with these questions like we’re looking for our keys in an enormous, puffy couch.

Gate 31 Specifics

Gate 31 is that charismatic figurehead who leads the crowd but is so likeable that you want to have a beer with him or her.

The Gate of Influence is the trend-setter one whose name and picture get splashed in the headlines;

who gets called into the limelight.

31 makes it into the photo op;

but notice where it’s reaching out to connect to form a full Channel:

to Gate 7, the Gate of the Army, to form the Channel of the Alpha.

Gate 7, remember, is the worm-tongue, I mean the Advisor, who’s guiding the organization, business or country from behind-the-scenes.

In the highest vibration, Gate 31:

• is generally well-liked; seen as a figurehead amongst the people
• waits to be in invited, elected, or appointed to represent the group (they don’t just step in front of others to get to the front or assume they’ll automatically be followed just because they’re cool)
• is inherently influential; others see them as having good ideas about which direction to go, so they want the 31 to represent them
• acts as a natural trend setter and unifier
• confidently, naturally, express the voice “I lead…”
• makes a meaningful impact; leads by example; demonstrates capability, trustworthiness, and know-how
• is logical; here to share their vision for a new direction & exemplify how people can follow to get there
• unequivocally walks the walk; doesn’t just talk the talk
• is a team player, not a top-down commander
• knows how to delegate, champion, galvanize & recognize others
• pays attention to/works to fulfill the needs of the people
• is driven by a desire to be of service

But when Gate 31 is out of whack, in the low-vibe shadowy state, here’s what it looks like:

• leads out of attention-seeking; not out of service
• has a big ego that expects others to do what they’re told
• doesn’t work to earn the people’s trust
• won’t wait to be invited, designated, appointed or asked to step to the front and take a leadership role
• assumes others will just follow their lead, even if the 31 hasn’t laid out the plan or explained where they’re leading people
• only talks the talk; doesn’t walk the walk
• is unaware of, and out of touch with, what people actually want/need in their leader
• their leadership is self-serving
• they become afraid of leadership because they fear being recognized & relied on (too much responsibility)
• afraid they can’t actually follow through as a leader with so many eyes on them
• Pushes leadership away (“I’m not good enough to lead”)

Albert Einstein had Gate 31. So did Stephen Hawking. Kevin Hart has it, and Sandra Bullock, too.

Ryan Reynolds has the full 31-7 Channel of the Alpha. So does Volodymyr Zelensky.

Do you?

If so, lean into Gate 31’s highest vibrations and try to notice when you’re slipping into the shadow side. No big deal if you find yourself low-vibing it. Just course-correct and commit to trying again next time.

If you don’t have 31 activated in your chart, enjoy a taste of it through the course of this transit, and experiment with using it in the high vibe —

— But don’t make this energy all about you. It’s not on your life’s course syllabus so it’s not something you need to make an issue out of.

Watch others, who do carry this trait in their bodies at all times, grapple with how they express themselves and their leadership capabilities. Notice how they struggle or misstep to influence others. Nod and smile as you see them step to the front of the line without being invited first, or talk a big game without backing up their assertions.

Above all, learn from their mistakes and make sure you don’t follow their lead.
