Enthusiasm, Curiosity, and Building the Skills to Pay the Bills as the Sun transits Gate 16, plus what the other planets are doing this week
What are the planets up to this week? How might they be influencing us here on Earth? How you can navigate these frequencies with grace & stand strong in your own power, regardless of what the energy they’re emitting? Here’s an overview and guidance, from a Human Design perspective.

See if you have any of the numbers I refer to, about the energetic frequencies the planets are moving through this week, lit up on your chart.
If so, it means you have these energies active in your body. Their descriptions will probably be familiar.
If you don’t, it means you do not have these energies active in your body so they are not necessarily your lesson to learn or your cross to bear.
But know that you are prone to experiencing them while these transits take place.
It’s nearly impossible to free yourself of all external conditioning. Besides, feeling these transits is a golden opportunity to build compassion and empathy for others who carry these traits within them at all times.
Still, you can build an energetic boundary around yourself to shield yourself from internalizing these energies as if they are your own;
protect yourself from taking on these traits if they’re not native to you, as they don’t belong to you, so you can free yourself from being unnecessarily influenced by them.
Simply watch these themes unfold in the world around you.
Observe their influences taking place — in the news, at work, in your communities, and right in your home.
And get out the popcorn, because you’ll want to be ready to watch the drama unfold as politicians, celebrities and other notable figures live out these themes in real time.
Take note of who’s expressing each frequency in the highest vibration, and who’s struggling in the shadowy realms.
The Sun transits Gate 16, the Gate of Enthusiasm, May 26 through June 1:
Expect yourself and others this week to get enthusiastic and excited about learning something new.
Gate 16 is Throat-activated, Gemini energy for eagerly building new skills. It’ll have us eagerly curious about some new topic(s). So it’s likely that each of us will suddenly feel really pumped about learning to get good at some task or activity.
If you have this energy active in your body (check your Human Design chart here to see if the number 16 is lit up on it), then allow yourself to get curious.
Follow the spark when you find yourself getting interested in a new subject. Don’t expect the become the best at it right away. If you’re meant to learn it, you’ll have the enthusiasm to put in the time to really master it.
Watch out for being impatient with yourself and others; getting bored with something quickly; and being a perfectionist.
Don’t burst people’s bubbles with your gift for expressing what’s cool and what’s not. Let yourself be the student. Ask good questions. Surround yourself with experts. Open yourself to new knowledge and different methodologies.
Shift gears when your enthusiasm wanes but don’t berate yourself for giving up. Trust your natural talent and give yourself room to grow, so you can build mastery and develop depth, if that’s what you desire.
Don’t try to chase every passing whimsy or you’ll burn out.
Also remember that this frequency can create a fear of inadequacy; that you worry you aren’t good enough and don’t know enough.
Screw that. You’re perfect and you know plenty. Your superpower is your enthusiasm for learning.
The Earth anchors itself in Gate 9, the Gate of Focus/Taming Power of the Small:
Stay grounded through the Sun’s transit in Gate 16 by focusing on the tiny details, because that’s where the Earth wants us to focus as it sits anchored in Gate 9.
Don’t worry about the big picture. Study the trees, not the whole forest. In fact, zoom in — wayyyyy in — on every fine detail of every vein on every leaf! Concentration and attention to detail are your BFF’s this week.
North Node continues in Gate 36, the Gate of Crisis:
The North Node challenges us to get outside our comfort zone so we can grow and evolve. In Gate 36, we can do that by trusting in the process, allow this painful cycle to come to its natural end in its own time. We are not in control. We can drive ourselves absolutely mad going down all the rabbit holes. But we’ll stay balanced and grow into the new era if we can remember that the truth will come to light. It is natural law that the dawn must always follow the night, even if that night is the darkest night of the soul.
Something to look forward to:
The North Node completes this transit in Crisis on June 13th! We will finally complete this cycle of doom then and the North Node will shift into Gate 22, the Gate of Grace.
The South Node maintains in Gate 6, the Gate of Friction:
We are too comfortable in our silos, too cozy with our own kind, too wrapped up in tribalism and too wedded to keeping others out, says the South Node in the Gate of Conflict/Friction.
The wisdom of Emotion-driven Gate 6 is to erect and maintain healthy boundaries that foster nourishing unions.
With the South Node drawing to a close in this frequency, we have a little more time to work out how we’re going to collaborate harmoniously with “others” who are “outside” our groups.
With whom can you forge trustworthy alliances? How have you worked on building community? Have you demonstrated inclusivity, or have you worked to exclude certain people from your tribe???
Mercury transits Gate 20, the Gate of Now
The Sun just completed its transit in the Gate of Now/Contemplation. Now, this week, Mercury echoes it, only louder this time so that everyone in the back is sure to hear.
Listen closely for more off-the-cuff quips, spontaneous slips of the tongue and unplanned utterances that come off as offensive and brash.
(Karoline Leavitt sure dropped a doozy during the crypto dinner!)
Words are powerful.
Messaging can unify the collective and ignite positive change.
So practice contemplation and self-awareness this week so that you don’t blurt something out recklessly.
Remember: Now more than ever, loose lips sink ships.
Venus transits Gate 51, the Gate of Shock, until 10 am on May 27th, when it transits Gate 42, the Gate of Increase/Growth
Venus has been shocking us into a new way of being for the past week. Initiating our conscience. Forcing us to uplevel our values. There’s simply no going back to the way things used to be. The Divine Feminine is rising. And as Venus shifts into Gate 42, we’re going to be given an opportunity to choose whether to keep repeating the same old mistakes, or to put an end to some habit that no longer aligns with who we are.
Come Tuesday, it’ll be time to let go of what doesn’t serve and make room for something new.
Mars in Gate 7, the Gate of the Army/Advisor, until 5 pm on May 27th, when it shifts into Gate 4, the Gate of Answers/Youthful Folly
We’ve been aggressive — or at least some of us have — about leadership lately. With Mars in Gate 7, we’ve shown how we can be analytical and strategic. We’ve proved we know which direction to go. We’ve yearned to be recognized, respected, and considered an authority in our respective fields.
On Tuesday, when Mars shifts out of Gate 7 (the Advisor) and into Gate 4 (Answers/Formulization/Youthful Folly), we’ll be influenced by the energy to offer explanations — about anything, everything, and stuff we don’t really know anything about.
People everywhere are about to speak with conviction and confidence about things they aren’t that informed about. Receive their Answers with caution. Don’t get into silly arguments with mansplainers.
Spar gently. Hypothesize. Free associate. Brainstorm together. Take others’ explanations simply as suggestions, not proven fact.
Real answers come in due time, and with life experience.
Jupiter holds in Gate 12, the Gate of Caution
Our key to expansion at this time, as a collective, is to exercise social caution. Be mindful of our audience. Listen. Tune into the pain and suffering people are trying to show us. Honor it. And express our truth by sharing our emotional experience through art, music, poetry or some other creative expression.
Saturn transits Gate 25, the Gate of Innocence
Around 4:00 p.m. EST today, May 26, Saturn shifts from 25.2 into 25.3. For the past couple of weeks, with Saturn in 25.2, we were building discipline by letting ourselves be present and simply bear witness to this painful moment we’re living through, which has damn near shattered our sense of innocence.
What Saturn will be teaching us now, in 25.3 and onward, is how to move forward nevertheless, in integrity, with some semblance of awe and wonder and appreciation for life itself being at least partially intact. So from here on out, it’ll be more about taking right action.
Remember that living in integrity & conducting yourself with decency doesn’t guarantee you’ll be shielded from harm. Check your ego. Stand tall in the face of failure. Hold your head high. The power of your loving spirit can overcome anything.
Watch out for losing your appreciation & love for the glorious gift of life; it could result in turning to crime or self-harm.
Neptune transits Gate 25, Innocence, in the 4th Line:
Meanwhile, Neptune, the planet that rules the subconscious, our intuition, dreams, visions and our spiritual ancestry, also happens to be transiting Gate 25, and it’s a step ahead of Saturn.
Neptune in 25.4 is our intuition and our spirit guides shouting to us from yonder that, no matter what happens, we are safe, we are loved, we will overcome & we will survive.
Have faith. Gate 25 is Christ-Consciousness kinds of vibes. This is about working to achieve an extraordinary level of spiritual attunement.
Look for beauty & opportunity in the most unlikely places.
Show mercy & forgiveness.
Love radically.
Uranus in Gate 8, the Gate of Contribution
Uranus keeps lurking in the faraway nethers to remind us that the revolution of this current moment —
i.e., the way we’re going to transform the world —
is by being our most authentic selves.
Forget fitting in. To hell with conforming.
Now’s the time to make your mark on the world in only the way that you can do it.
Dare to raise eyebrows. Have the courage to live on your terms.
Sure, you can spend all day, everyday, volunteering for a good cause or doing favors because you’re an honorable person.
But the greatest gift you could give someone, and the way you leave a lasting legacy behind,
is by expressing the truth of who you be.
That’s how you make a positive difference and that’s what creates lasting change.
Pluto Still Retrograding Gate 41, the Gate of Decrease/Contraction, in the 2nd Line
Pluto isn’t done reviewing and revealing all the small details and fine cracks in the Earth that we missed when it first shifted into Aquarius back in November.
It’s shining a flashlight on the aging support beams and rusty screws that are supposed to be holding up the systems we have in place, and it’s saying, with a hint of warning, “Ummmm, you guys? Get back here. You better take a look at this.”
So the planet of the underworld, death & rebirth, and transformation has us taking a closer look at the rot beneath the structure.
Shit, are those termites under there?
Hmmm, we have some rebuilding to attend to. But the system is crumbling — that is for certain.
Now is the time to be sensible and practical.
What can we actually save? Should we even bother? A superficial update to the facade only isn’t enough. But we can’t just bulldoze the whole thing and start from scratch…can we?
No matter how much we want a new experience, Pluto advises us to stay flexible here and be open to adapting. We can stay nimble and be ready for whatever happens in the midst of uncertainty or any new experiences.
Let us proceed with caution and exercise safety protocols.
This isn’t the time for taking unnecessary risks.
