New Beginnings, Confusion, and Being the Catalyst for Massive Change

Cosmic Overview of the Week Ahead
Take note of the following celestial transits to support yourself and your family throughout this tumultuous time.
- The Sun now transits the very-Aries, Sacral-Center energy of Gate 3, the Gate of Ordering, a.k.a. “Difficulty at the Beginning,” beginning late in the evening of April 15th in the 1st Line, and finishing up in the 6th Line around 5 p.m. EST on April 21st.

The Sun’s Transit in Gate 3: A New Chapter Begins (With Chaos)
If you’re waking up today with the feeling that everything you’ve worked hard to achieve for the last many months or even years has been picked up by an angry toddler, shaken, tossed into the air and now the pieces of all your careful effort and output have been strewn about in disarray,
then you’re exactly where the Cosmos want you to be.
Welcome to the Sun’s transit in Gate 3, the Gate of Ordering — also known as “Difficulty at the Beginning.”
This transit is a crossroads; a choice.
It’s about change and how we handle it:
with patience and grace? Honor and respect?
Or with rage, disregard, overwhelm and destruction?
Whether the 3 is lit up in your Human Design chart or not, all of humanity is being influenced by this energetic frequency, from now through April 21st.
Pay attention to whether you experience, firsthand, the rich, complex and sometimes destabilizing sensations that it brings.
And note, too, where you see this frequency cropping up in your family members, friends, coworkers, and even in the news throughout the week.
Do you have this trait activated in your Human Design chart? If you don’t know, grab your free energy blueprint here and look for it where indicated in the graphic above.
Gate 3, the Gate of Ordering, is located in the Sacral Center, so you know, right off the bat, it’s one of the regenerative, sustainable sources of lifeforce energy that wants to be busy doing something joyful.
This energy is mutative, too, meaning it’s one of the handful of powerful Gates that’s responsible for undergoing massive change before everybody else does.
Gate 3 willingly jumps ahead into new skin, so to speak, to serve as an example for the rest of the group.
But doing so can be tremendously hard.
Folks with Gate 3 are prone to deep and prolonged bouts of melancholy.
We can feel like we’re the only ones going through such hard stuff.
Change seems to be more difficult for the Gate 3 — weightier and more chaotic — than it seems to go for everyone else.
Because it’s hard to go first into transformation when you don’t know what’s coming.
Gate 3’s High & Low Vibes
In the highest expression, this Gate of Ordering can leap ahead, transform itself into something new entirely, and then look back over its shoulder from the future to tell its buddies,
“Yo, were you paying attention to how I did that? Because that’s what healthy change looks like. Do you see me now?! All happy and transformed?!”
It does that by exercising patience.
By accepting what’s different, what’s gone, and what must stay the same for now.
By allowing itself to learn.
And by being methodical.
In the low expression or the shadow state, however, Gate 3 can whine and cry in the face of change,
get overwhelmed by the chaotic feelings that newness tends to bring.
It can feel completely swallowed-up by a different experience and go catatonic in response,
having no idea how to put all the strewn-about pieces of its life and circumstances into place in order to move ahead in life.
And refusing to move forward due to all the grief of what’s been lost.
Change is difficult at the beginning. Get it?
So it’s gotta learn how to arrange all the shuffled-up pieces of a situation into some semblance of — you got it — Order.
We’re all feeling like this now:
Our world and everything we’ve known to be real and reliable has been torn apart, shaken and thrown into disarray.
Let’s review, quickly, what happened last week, to get our bearings and see how one transit bleeds into the next and the next and the next.
The Sun’s transit in Gate 42,which ended late in the evening April 15, 2025, showed us that the cycle we had been in wasn’t quite through with us.
There were a few loose ends to tie up;
one or two (or twelve) more to-do’s to cross off its list before it could call that cycle good and done.
Perhaps you were able to do the same in your own life?
Did you polish off any outstanding projects, finally send a long overdue email, or put your winter decorations away, once and for all?
Hope so. But those actions have consequences, right? Either good or bad.
Now you may be dealing with the feedback from colleagues on that report you turned in.
Or a response to that email you’d sent.
Or your living room might be a mess because you spent last week moving things around to put those decorations away.
We saw 42’s transit unfold in the news, that’s for sure.
The Muskrat and his Doggy Boys proclaimed they were just about through bashing our government agencies with their battering ram.
Is there anything even left to be destroyed?
The Orange Menace and his gremlin loyalists ended last week’s transit with a grand crescendo of unimaginable evil when they refused to comply with a federal judge’s court order to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home.
This was the flashpoint everyone has been dreadfully anticipating, btw.
That was literally yesterday, when the Sun hit its climactic ending in Gate 42.6.
Note: The “point-six” is key to understand here.
A celestial body moves through all six Lines of every Gate at their own rate.
Each Line is a stepping stone; a maturation process that begins with Line 1, or Stage 1, which lays a foundation and builds upon it, all the way toward its culmination in Line 6, which is like graduation day.
Line 6 is always the Role Model. Always setting the example for how to embody the greatest strengths of a Gate — or not.
See, we can take the energy of each Gate and Line every day and go either high vibe or low vibe with it.
If the Regime had been high-vibing it last week, they’d have ended the transit using their Gate 42 energy for finishing things to support the Collective,
to share their progress in a way that carried others over the finish line.
They’d have allowed what was still great and perfectly functional to continue flourishing,
and they’d have acted like team players who were excited to have completed something great together alongside their teammates,
such that everyone, together, was poised and ready to move into the next phase as one cohesive unit.
But they didn’t do any of that.
They’d all gone into the low-vibrational shadows of Gate 42, because they are beings who are completely off-course from what their Spirit Selves actually want for them, and so, frankly, they are souls who have lost their way.
The low-vibe of 42.6, specifically, is the refusal to help others and the tendency to keep growth and achievement all to oneself.
That’s definitely what I saw taking place.
Late at night on April 15th, as the Sun was finishing its transit in 42.6, we experienced the precise moment when the experts were FINALLY willing to admit that we are in a true Constitutional crisis.
This one move by the regime is what’s put everyone over the edge and launched us into entirely uncharted waters.
Cue the Sun’s transit into Gate 3.1: Acceptance of confusion as part of every process.
So, this is where we are now.
Waking up to a whole new set of circumstances — perhaps in our own lives, and definitely, if you live in the United States, a mess of a government in disarray.
What’s going on for you, personally? For your kids?
I’ve just started a brand new j-o-b.
It’s a little destabilizing to be learning all the things, adjusting to a new skej, figuring out how I’ll keep up with posting here and still making time to do Human Design readings.
(But it’s a great transformation, a healthy and much-needed change, and I know you’ll bear with me while I put things in Order!!)
How do we move forward from here?
We lean into the glory of the energy of this week, and avoid the low-vibe shadow state of it:
- We exercise patience.
- We survey the circumstances of our situation.
- We accept the chaos and let ourselves adjust.
- We allow any guardrails and boundaries to remain in place until such time that we know-for-sure they are no longer applicable or useful, at which time they’ll melt away all by themselves,
- and that’s when we’ll know we can rocket forward into our new reality without any hindrances to get in our way.
We can keep in mind, too, that Gate 3 is highly Individualistic energy — as opposed to being Tribal or Collective in nature.
It’s part of the Individual Circuit in Human Design.
That means it may not have us feeling super concerned with what’s taking place in our communities, the wider society as a whole, necessarily, or maybe even with our families.
Gate 3 can be kind of a navel-gazer. Concerned only with itself.
And that’s okay!
Many people on Earth came into their meatsuits carrying a TON of Individual Circuitry.
Some of us have to be willing to do the self-analysis, the self-reflection, the personal transformation!
So, have some grace and allow yourself to go within when you feel the pull to.
And be gracious, too, when you see others acting in ways you might ordinarily call selfish or overly self-obsessed.
The Sun is asking us to go inward at this time and really muster the strength to make good progress, but it has to start from deep inside our core.
We’re figuring out, at this time, how to be the catalyst for massive transformation.
How we do that — each of us individually — is going to be completely unique.
Here’s where the Gate of Ordering can get us all jammed up:
This energy just wants to blast forward on its own,
ignore the strewn-about pieces and get on with the good part of having positive change already made.
So it can tend to have us recklessly blowing past all the stupid rules and limitations that are currently in place,
because it wants to just be magically morphed into its next, cool phase where everything is awesome.
But it can’t just do that without any effort.
Caterpillars don’t just become butterflies overnight.
There’s a very-necessary gestation period that must take place for us in order to be ready to spread our radiant wings and fly free.
But Gate 3 hates that idea.
It rolls its eyes at gestation periods.
It wants action, innovation, and progress now.
So don’t be surprised if this energetic frequency has you feeling impatient and impulsive.
The Grandpa-Grandson Road Trip
I often liken this energy to the eager teen who wants to jump in the car and hit the open road on the way to some adventure spot —
no coat, no lunch packed, no wallet, no directions, and an empty gas tank.
But loaded up with pure vigor, high expectations, wanderlust and anticipation.
He doesn’t get very far, though.
He gets lost. He runs out of fuel. He’s hungry and cold while he waits at the side of the road for help.
And he’s left shivering, thinking to himself, “Well, that was stupid. Now I’m screwed. I should’ve planned better…”
You’ll note in the bodygraph diagram above that if Gate 3 were connected to another Energy Center to form a full Channel, it would meet Gate 60, the Gate of Acceptance (of Limitations), in the Root Center, which is what I always call Grandpa.
Grandpa is old-school.
He likes things to stay the way they’ve always been.
Change is super uncomfortable for him.
So Pap takes his time making sandwiches for the trip ahead, packing the cooler, spreading his maps out on the dining table, charting his route well in advance.
He makes sure he’s showered and looks spiffy before he jumps in the car.
The man would never leave the house without his wallet.
And he sure as hell wouldn’t hit the highway before pulling into the gas station to fill up.
Now, when you connect Gate 3 and Gate 60, they form the Channel of Mutation, a highly individualistic superpower that is the quintessential expression of what healthy change can look like.
To understand the Channel of Mutation, imagine that fast-moving, carefree teenager (Gate 3) and our slow-moving, intentional, old-school Papap (Gate 60) taking their road trip together.
What hilarity might ensue as they head off on their journey, taking turns at the wheel?
The youngster brings the verve, the innovation, the spark of excitement and enthusiasm to make progress.
He annoys Grandpa by playing the radio at top volume and speeding down the highway, blowing past scenic overlooks and taking shortcuts just to reach his destination sooner.
And he probably gets pulled over by a state trooper.
Meanwhile, Papap goes the speed limit (or slower), infuriating his grandson by stopping at every roadside attraction and staying on his pre-determined route, even when there’s a traffic pileup.
The lesson here is that neither the status quo, on its own, nor impulsive action toward newness are very practical on their own.
In order to make real progress, then, we need a little of both energies to balance each other out, so that we ultimately land where we want to end up without creating more chaos.
Because if we push to get there too soon, we’ll only wind up with more problems and more disorder.
Yes, 3 is ready for newness — and that’s where we all are right now.
It just has a hard time making meaningful, lasting transformation all by itself. It can’t do it on pure excitement, alone.
So we need to embrace the wisdom here and understand this transit is giving us an opportunity to start our next chapter cautiously, carefully, intentionally, and in an orderly fashion.
Do:
- Have patience,
- Be thoughtful,
- Stay vigilant,
- Accept things as they are,
- Be willing to recognize what you don’t know or don’t have yet,
- Approach this week like an attentive apprentice who’s here to learn,
- Serve as an example for others to show what healthy change can look like.
Don’t:
- Rush through things,
- Skip essential details,
- Speed or take shortcuts,
- Dwell on all that has been lost,
- Disregard barriers (which may be protecting you from going over a cliff),
- Assume you know everything there is to know already,
- Ignore red flags,
- Forget to enjoy the journey, for that’s where the real mutation takes place.
Obviously this isn’t as easy to pull off in real life when we’re living through a Constitutional crisis. But look for the good and remember we are all undergoing a mutation — to our very genetic makeup — right now.
Stay grounded this week by honoring your (family) values.
The Earth sits in Gate 50, the Gate of Values, which sits in the Splenic Center and helps Gate 3 stay in line by providing a stabilizing force for the eager teen.
50 is — hilariously, now that I think about it — what I always refer to as the loving, fatherly energy that says,
“This is who we are, this is how we do things here, and this is how we take care of one another in this family. You want my support and protection? You wanna keep having food to eat and a roof over your head? Then you’ll follow these rules and keep up your end of the bargain.”
So we’ve got three generations to keep us in check here! A perfect trifecta!
(Or trinity, you might say…???)
We are the spirited teen right now,
who can move forward and make healthy change,
but only as long as we live according to the values that our protective, loving dad raised us with,
and also give our old-school Pap the respect he deserves for all that he’s endured and all the wisdom he has to share with us.
What’s coming up for you this week? I’d love to know. Feel free to share in the comments or reach out if you have a question about your Human Design, want to learn how to use it, and want to know how to live your life in the highest vibration of all the energies you hold in your body.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
Stay strong, friends.
