Shock, Initiation, Intuitive Hunches & the Crisis Cycle Continues
The Sun now transits Gate 51, the Gate of Shock, a.k.a. Initiation.
Holy cow, right?
You don’t need me to tell you that everything about the world is utterly shocking right now.
The markets are being shocked. People are being shocked. Countries are being shocked. Our government, our investments, our population…
Gate 51 is exactly what it sounds like:
It’s that burst of willful energy that makes us say and do shocking things.
The egoic motivation to just want to get a rise out of someone.
The tendency to go through life being shocked — initiated — by sudden upheaval.
Car crashes, layoffs, broken bones, lottery-winnings, sudden relocations —
for those who have Gate 51 defined, there’s never a dull moment.
But if they — and us this week — are really high-vibing it, we’ll be able to preserve our sacred self-awareness,
and trust in the chaos that is unfolding.
51 has the power to ultimately initiate us into greater expansion so that we get closer to God, Gaia, Allah, or whatever flavor of Cosmic Oneness you prefer.
‘Shock’ wants us to learn how to jump when the earth explodes under our feet, so that we land softly, nimbly — exactly where we need to end up.
Even if that means we find ourselves in a whole new reality.
See, the Gate of Initiation has a direct line to the Divine.
Check out where it lives in the body and which Gate it connects to to make a full Channel:

It lives in the Heart Center: that part of our body that processes our ego, our willpower and our motivation. It helps us define our values, decide what matters, and cultivate self-worth.
51 stretches out its arm to meet Gate 25 in the G-Center, the Gate of Innocence, a.k.a., that Christ-Consciousness energy I’ve been hemming and hawing about so much lately, also known as the Spirit of the Self.
These two together create a spiritual leap-frog situation when they fuse to create the Channel of Initiation:
51 shocks, ignites, and initiates. 25 responds by withstanding these shocks and using them to find a new, more aligned, direction; not to fall apart, whither in misery, or lose all hope.
For what it’s worth, Gate 25 is now activated in all of us, because Neptune is still hanging out there.
So all of us blessed souls on Earth have the full Channel of Initiation available to us at this time.Subscribed
Let us trust in the madness of life’s shocks,
so that we can maintain our childlike sense of wonder and exhibit hope anyway;
so that we can love anyway;
so that we can accept others despite our differences anyway;
so that we can show kindness and tolerance anyway,
as we stand courageous in the face of so many horrific stories now tempting us to lose our faith in all that is good.
This energy can be profoundly spiritual;
teaching us essential lessons as sudden hardships erupt.
With this profundity, we can build faith in the seemingly-erratic Divine Plan;
and whenever, wherever, we land,
perhaps,
we will land softly,
with a new direction forward,
having expanded our Consciousness
and discovered our true will to survive.
Stay grounded from now through April 9th by trusting in your Intuition.
Gate 51’s grounding partner is, after all, Gate 57, the Gate of Intuition — awareness in the now. It’s the most intuitive Gate in the entire chart.
I just posted a big-long piece yesterday on how to find stability and groundedness through the power of your Splenic Center, where Gate 57 sits. I highly encourage you to check that out.
But here’s the TLDR version: Trust your gut. It never lies.
The Crisis Continues
Let us not make mountains out of molehills, but this is worth mentioning.
Four celestial bodies are now transiting Gate 36, the Gate of Crisis, also known as the Darkening of the Light:
The North Node, that thing we’re working toward mastering;
Mercury (retrograde), that thing we’re here to communicate (about);
Venus (retrograde), that thing that helps us decide our values (empowering our Heart Center, y’know?);
and Saturn, that thing that disciplines us to keep us in line.
The moral of this piece of the story, then?
Look for the good.
Keep your eyes peeled for sparks of illumination. Lights at the end of so many dark tunnels.
It’s there.
This cycle of madness is ending.
It just feels like emotional turmoil here where we are, right in the eye of the storm.
Here’s a little diversion to help you make it through this difficult time.
I’ve had a hard time focusing lately; have been spending way too much time doom-scrolling, I admit.
But I’ve discovered some real gems, so I thought I’d share some of them below: The best things I’ve seen on the interwebs all week:

“I Am My Mother’s Savage Daughter”
A centuries-old-sounding, rage-stirring chant that beckons our maternal bloodlines to come forth and join us in our revolution. This beautiful song awakens long-buried suffering in me — what do you think? — transmuting oppression into blood-thirsty vengeance. written by Wyndreth Berginsdottir and performed here — my favorite rendition amongst many — by Jax the Bard.
HD Nod: This song, and this combination of the singer and songwriter fused together to create it, conjure up vibes of:
- Gate 44, the Gate of Alertness – nostalgia, love of history, awareness of patterns, fear of the past repeating itself;
- the Channel of Openness – which includes Gates 12 (Caution) and 22 (Grace) connected, merging social cautiousness and artistic expression with deep emotionality that evokes a sense of empathy;
- Gate 33, the Gate of Privacy/Retreat – which retreats into privacy to process the pain of humanity so that, one day, we may share those stories of suffering to deliver the lessons our ancestors learned the hard way
- Gate 49, the Gate of Revolution/Principles – a fierce tribalism that establishes the rules around intimacy and community care; knowing when the status quo is no longer viable and that a revolution must be ignited

RickExpress is the epitome of unfettered, high-vibe, Gate 58, the Gate of Joy, which is the energy for spreading sunshine.
I’m also willing to bet he’s a Generator with a Defined G-Center, probably with Gates 25 (Innocence/Spirit of the Self) and Gate 1 (Creative Self-Expression) defined.
Of course, I could be wrong — I often am. Either way, he’s expert at embodying these traits and I just looooove watching him and grooving along.

Cory Booker’s historic 25-hour speech on the Senate floor.
You’ve all seen it. I don’t need to link it here. If you missed my reading on his Human Design, you can watch it here.
ICYMI, He’s a 6/2 Emotional Mani-Gen with an Open Root, four connected Channels, and Gate 46, the Gate of Embodiment/Determination of the Self, appearing four times in his chart — all of which helps explain how he was able to pull off this superhuman feat!

How to Meditate so you don’t feel like $#!+
I recently started following Cosmic Chaos, a newsletter here on Substack written by the staggeringly prolific and artfully witchy wordsmith, Grey Galaxie, whose articles use astrology, tarot, witchcraft and more to help us make sense of what’s happening in our world. Her work is breathtaking and inspiring. Definitely check it out.
This morning on her chat I was delighted to discover her tips, shown above, in Meditation for the Restless, Raw and Real.
Boy, does this sure make ‘sitting’ so much easier or what?!

The Irish History Podcast
Ever since St. Patrick’s Day this year, I’ve gone all-in on learning more about my roots to discover what, exactly, my ancestors have endured. And it’s so. much. worse. than the glossed-over lore of mischievous leprechauns and whiskey-and-potato diets.
This podcast came to my awareness a few weeks ago and I’ve been binge-listening. Every episode is a lesson in epic failure. Disastrous circumstances. Survival against all odds. Constant setbacks. Persistent oppression. And a tremendous spirit of endurance.
My Irish pride is seething right now. But wow, am I angry at you English! You were utterly horrible to my people!
My great-great-grandmother, Julie Nolan, and grandfather, Daniel Heffernan, both came to the U.S., separately, in the 1870s, having suffered through the famine, seemingly, or at least their parents had.
She was 15, traveled alone, and we have no knowledge of her family’s story or even exactly where she came from. Maybe County Cork, but more likely, Mayo. He, perhaps, Cork. But who knows.
It gives me a weird sense of comfort to have these stories stirring up distant echoes, cosmic memories, you could call them. (Thanks, Neptune!) Because it brings me hope for today:
We’ve been through hard stuff before. Surely we can do it again.
Yours in service and gratitude,
Janeen
