End the Power Struggle Between You & Your Child

New strategies for *actually* getting through to your child

It IS possible to de-escalate an argument and resolve a power struggle at home, even if your kiddo is particularly strong-willed or hard-headed.

An effective way to do that, however, requires a greater understanding of how the child is uniquely — energetically — hardwired to move through the world.

And this has to take place before the next power struggle erupts.

So, here are some questions you’ll want to answer, first, in order to really know how to get through to them:

  • How does your child view life?
  • What drives them?
  • What ‘fills their cup,’ so to speak?
  • What kinds of situations or occurrences completely wipe them out?
  • Who do they know themselves to be, deep down?
  • What really drives them bonkers?
  • What mission is their spirit on?
  • What trips them up, every time?
  • What do they want, more than anything?

These are, indeed, lofty questions.

But without answers to them, you could be facing a broken record of the same arguments with your child, constantly skipping on repeat.

Even if the issue at hand changes over time — i.e., they don’t want to eat their veggies when they’re six, and then they don’t want to abide by their screen-time limit when they’re 12 — the same old power struggles are prone to continue, and maybe even amplify, on a never-ending cycle if you don’t have an effective tool for actually getting through to your child.

Thankfully, you have access to that tool AND can uncover real answers to these questions by looking at your child’s Human Design chart.

Below is Senator Cory Booker’s, since I’m still riding high after his spectacular, historic, 25+ hour, record-breaking speech on the Senate floor that commenced last night. (I’ll be sharing a mini-reading of his chart soon, so stay tuned!)

It turns out that there are loads of explanations for your kiddo’s tendencies embedded in that funny-looking diagram that’s full of symbols, shapes and numbers.

And they’re actually pretty easy to grasp and apply in real life —

especially once you have a clear understanding of which specific energetic traits are activated in your child’s body, and which make them so radiantly distinct from every other child.

But even if all you know about their HD is their Energy Type, or what I often refer to as the role they’re here to play

which is, of course, foundational and extremely powerful on its own —

then you’re already way ahead of the game, because you’ve got a bunch data points for understanding your child that most parents don’t even know exist (yet).

A little bit of study, then, gives you a bunch of secrets to keep in your back pocket for leveraging your child’s natural energy flow so that:

A) they are poised to reach their highest potential, and

B) they actually are open not just to hearing you, but to responding (eagerly!) and connecting with you in a meaningful way, too.

When you learn how to ‘speak to’ their energy, they open up. They feel seen, heard, understood and valued. And they’re more likely to collaborate with you rather than automatically push back against your inquiries.

I’m giving you useful strategies for how to do just that in my new video training, “End the Power Struggle: The Secret to Getting Through to Your Child.”

Of course, no two humans are alike, so variations between and amongst the 8 billion souls on Earth are, indeed, gloriously vast—

—which is why it helps so much to go deeper into your child’s design to discover what all those shapes, numbers and symbols on their chart mean,

because each of those represents a specific personality trait that your child came into the world to use.

If they’re going to reach their highest potential, all they need to do is learn how to use each of those characteristics for the superpowers they truly are.

Otherwise, those inherent traits can become dormant —

or worse, they can turn into sources of irritation and punishment.

Just look at Elon Musk. One of his most dominant traits is Gate 17, the Gate of Opinions.

When he was a child, his siblings complained to their mom that they didn’t want to play with him because he was always telling everyone what they were doing wrong. Meanwhile, Little Elon, they said, was always claiming he was right.

His older sibs said he routinely criticized others’ ideas. So they didn’t want him to join with the neighborhood gang when the kids would all go out to play.

They said he was no fun(Source: “The Psychology in Seattle Podcast” with Dr. Kirk Honda.)

This is a classic misuse of Gate 17, the Gate of Opinions. People who aren’t taught how to use this superpower early in life can, instead, slip into its out-of-alignment, low-vibrational shadow-frequency, and wind up becoming unbearable to be around, constantly espousing their perspective as capital-T Truth when all they really have is one opinion.

I wager to guess little Elon was never taught how to use the power of his Gate of Opinions in the highest expression — which isn’t necessarily his parents’ fault. Perhaps the guy needs a Human Design consultant. Because when he was growing up, we didn’t have access to this information, the way we do now.

Still, now that Musk is so visible in the public eye, it’s easy to see that he has probably spent his life proclaiming he’s right about everything, without ever taking into consideration that his Opinion is just his perspective based on what he values.

Read some of the remarks made about the guy by his ex-employees and ex-wives. Look at what he’s doing to our society…

This is clearly someone who’s never learned how to use his Unconscious Sun energy to master the art of considering that other people view things differently;

that all manner of people who come from all manner of backgrounds develop values due to their widely varied life experiences,

and so, while their views may not align with his, they are nevertheless worth considering.

It seems boy Musk wasn’t taught that other people are free to hold entirely different Opinions,

and that just because he sees something as being best-accomplished one way, that doesn’t mean it’s right or true.

He missed the memo that said people can work together collaboratively to share their varied ideas and then, over thoughtful consideration and mutual understanding, come to some agreed-upon consensus for how to move forward in harmony, with the highest benefit for all as the goal.

Complicating matters, Musk is also a Manifesting Generator; that’s the Energy Type that’s here to move quickly through life, try lots of different things, gain mastery over a multitude of hobbies and skills, and eliminate unnecessary steps to cumbersome processes.

But MG’s are also uniquely prone — if they aren’t careful and don’t use this energy wisely — to getting totally overwhelmed and burned out.

They can start too many things, diffusing their inspiration so that they become disinterested, disconnected, and lose their spark for whatever they’d begun.

They tend to make messes of things, too, can have difficulty completing projects, and decide only when it’s too late that they really didn’t have interest, to begin with, in fully mastering what they’d started, so now they’ve got a bunch of broken commitments and unfinished business hanging over their heads.

And that’s when the cycle of guilt and shame set in…

There’s lots more to pick apart there, of course. But back to why this kind of info is relevant to you and your family:

Even when we’re just looking at humans through the lens of the 5 Types — Generator, Projector, Reflector, MG and Manifestor — we see five sharply contrasted ways of being.

And we can glean enormous amounts of data about how a person is wired to operate, communicate and live a fulfilling life.

Each Type is divinely unique. For instance,

  • Generator kids want the joy that comes with being really good at something;
  • Manifestor kids want the freedom to create from their inspiration;
  • Manifesting-Generator kids want the freedom to do things masterfully but also quickly & efficiently;
  • Projector children want recognition, acknowledgement and appreciation for their wisdom;
  • Reflector kids want to be surprised by life and delighted by the unexpected.

And this list is just one granular data point within a larger data set that distinguishes the 5 Types apart from one another.

I share loads of others in my latest deep-dive video training, “End The Power Struggle: The Secret to Getting Through to Your Child,” which you can now stream anytime, as many times as you like.
