Go Big Or Go Home
Gate 15, the Gate of Extremes, is the energy for experiencing everything in life to the extreme.
This airy-but-watery, shifting energy is driven by a need to be free to adjust and adapt to the ever-changing rhythms of life.
We can probably think of a few people who exude this energy. Without naming names, extreme sports enthusiasts come to mind. Extreme ideological blowhards espousing extreme political views, too. The extremely rigid, the extremely passionate, the chronic dieters and the binge drinkers…
Pretty much anyone who goes from zero to 100 in three seconds or less. Who doesn’t just ‘dabble’ in yoga or polka-dancing or kite-surfing but who goes ALL IN. And then tries something totally different the next month!
Gate 15 is classic ‘Go Big Or Go Home’ Energy. It’s built to be used, and it’s radiant when it’s in alignment and fully accepting its own, extreme nature.
It thrives on the winds of change and longs for variety.
I imagine a leaf. One that grows from a bud in early Spring, stretches to full greenery in Summer, withers and crumbles in Autumn, then releases itself from its branch and tumbles freely in the wind until it softens itself back into the earth from whence it came.
Constantly readjusting itself to the changing seasons. Continuously re-adapting to new conditions and rhythms, finding joy in each phase along the way.
Think about the weightlessness, joy and freedom that leaf shows, dancing happily in the sunlight on the tips of its tree home, and then later, waltzing through the air on the cold gusts without a care in the world.
That’s kinda how I think about Gate 15. It needs freedom, and it laps up diversity. It must experience things intensely in order to understand them. It is searching for a rhythm in the midst of a chaotic world.
In my opinion, Gate 15 is kinda taking one for the team, here. Experiencing the highs and the lows, the bigs and the smalls, the loves and the hates, all on our behalf, means the rest of us can more easily see where the middle is.
People with Gate 15 are showing us the poles of life, and we are free to sort out where we fall comfortably within the range between.
Gate 15 exemplifies for the rest of us that we are free to life life with gusto, or not. It reminds us we can find safety and routine despite ever-shifting winds. That we’ll always return to our home within. And that surrendering to the change of a new rhythm can bring true adventure and fulfillment.
This openness to experiencing all that life has to offer, in all its dizzying glory, makes 15 uniquely tolerant –and appreciative– of diversity.
And, Lord knows, we sure could use more people who are tolerant of diversity in this world.
In the high vibe, 15 has an innate capacity for accepting diverse people, things, experiences, habits, whatever. It deeply loves humanity, appreciating all its warts, weirdness and wonder.
A person with Gate 15 who’s in alignment thrives on the changing tides, they love diversity and need fluidity to feel at home. Being in any kind of fixed pattern for very long makes 15 feel confined and stuck. They are truly born to feel all the extremes.
15 can also be extremely magnetic. It has a very big aura that definitely gets noticed by others, whether it wants the attention or not.

Schedule? What Schedule?!
Without the support and steadiness of Gate 5, the Gate of Fixed Rhythms, however, 15 may be more prone to completely rejecting all routines, even sensible, healthy ones.
Likewise, it can have a really hard time finding or adhering to any pattern that’s good for it. It may shame itself for needing change and variety, and thus conform to a rigid schedule out of societal pressure that squashes its spirit, rather than honor its true, flowy nature.
It can even get restless due to not experiencing things in their extreme, enough, and thus turn to unhealthy or self-destructive behaviors as a way to feel stimulated by something.
Those with Gate 15 can sometimes feel their love for humanity so deeply that they may get entirely overwhelmed by the challenges facing people around the world and thus shut themselves down out of hopelessness.
If you have this gate and the lower vibration sounds more familiar, don’t freak out! You’re not doing life wrong! We really need you here, so stay with me.
Perhaps you’re just bored and underwhelmed. Or you’re not in the right kind of field that truly honors and appreciates your need for variation. You’re a true humanitarian, after all, so maybe you’re feeling confined by a lack of connection to the diversity of our species.
So: Consider how you might spice things up in your life a little today. Can you take a different route to work, order takeout from a place you’ve never been to, drop into a roller-skate-dancing class on a whim, unannounced?Try it!
There are a bunch of ways you could try to add more fluidity, flexibility, and diversity to your schedule.
Give yourself ample time and space to stumble into joy and adventure. Spend time outside. Let the natural rhythms of the season inspire you. Sit on a park bench and people-watch. Soak in the weird and wonderfulness of this crazy world.
Trust that you’re being guided, and that you are here on this planet to make an impact!
