What the Sun’s transit in Gate 45 means for humanity: June 7-12, 2025

The Sun now transits Gate 45, the Gate of the Ruler, empowering each of us here on Earth to be generous with what we have, for the good of our family and/or community.

Throughout this six-day transit, we are being asked to reflect on how and whether we’re protecting and support our communities adequately. What are the rules? What are the boundaries? Who’s included in our tribe, on our team? Who needs protection? Who has resources they can share? Who’s demonstrating loyalty? Who’s proving they can’t be trusted?

So get ready: Any one of us could find ourselves in the position of being asked to step up to the plate at a moment’s notice and be the leader.

With the Sun in Gate 45, the week ahead asks:

What kind of Ruler will you be?

Compassionate and willing to share for the good of the tribe?

Vulnerable and honest?

Willing to collaborate and invite ‘others’ in?

Open to distributing your wealth, power and resources?

Or will you be the kind of leader who holds power over those who have less than you do?

The kind who sets unrealistic expectations, demands and conditions for your underlings that can never be met?

Will you cast away those who are under your care and control?

Or nourish and protect the ones who rely on you?

These are good questions to ponder as the Sun makes its way through Gate 45, between now and June 13th.

As always, the power of the Sun is profoundly influential on what humanity gets itself up to. Whichever of the 64 Gates in the wheel of the Mandala it’s transiting, one week to the next, the energetic frequency it casts upon us through that Gate’s unique lens causes us to feel, think and behave a certain kind of way.

This week, the Sun just so happens to be transiting Gate 45, the Gate of the Ruler. I’ll break down its qualities, characteristics and challenges for you in a sec.

Before I proceed, grab your Human Design chart to see whether you have this one lit up in your body. Look for the number 45 highlighted in the Throat Center, bottom right of that square in the neck, as shown in the diagram below:

If that 45 is illuminated on your bodygraph, then you’ll no doubt be familiar with its traits and qualities, which I’m about to outline. They’re part of you. 45 is one of your personality traits. It’s accessible by you, to one degree or another, and ready to be used when you need it.

It’s also on your life’s syllabus, so the nuances of 45 are essential lessons your soul Self came into your body, this time around, to learn.

So the goal for you is to learn how to wield each of your energetic traits in the highest expression, and to avoid slipping into their lower vibrational tones.

Consider the characteristics I outline below and have a good think on them. Journal about how this energy tends to show up in you. And be honest with yourself about how you use 45’s powers.

Commit to noticing when you’re living in the shadowy realms of 45 as you move throughout your life, to disrupting that behavior, choosing to pivot, and then practice wielding its higher-vibrational traits instead.

For the rest of us who don’t have Gate 45 lit up in our charts, we have access to its enormous power all week, while the Sun hangs out in this position in our galaxy.

Enjoy it. But don’t internalize this energy or let it get to your head — the risk of having a power trip is real, my friends — but if this isn’t in your body, then it’s not your cross to bear, and it’s not one of your life lessons.

Instead, stay in your lane.

Go ahead and feel into this frequency while it lasts, and certainly make observations as you realize how it’s playing out in the news and in your regular life.

But use the next six days to build empathy and understanding about this very-natural, completely awesome trait, as far as how it shows up in the people who do possess Gate 45.

Help them work through its shadowy bits.

Remind them to wield it for the highest good of all — because when 45 is radiating authentic power, it’s exquisite and awe-inspiring!

Gate 45, the Gate of the Ruler, is about sharing wealth and resources with tribe members (i.e., family, friends, coworkers, etc.), but doing so in exchange for their loyalty, love and support.

“I’ll make sure you’re well cared for and protected, as long as you’re there for me when I need you,” says Gate 45.

This energy of The Ruler is here to proliferate knowledge, wealth, resources and protection, because it holds all the cards.

This is the frequency of intergenerational wealth. Of the 1 percent. Of the ruling class. Of the country club caste.

Those who’re born with Gate 45 come into the world just knowing, at a cellular level, that they’re kind of a big deal.

So don’t be surprised if you see or hear some real ego jockeying this week.

Gate 45 is also teacher energy. Because, in the high vibe, these are people who want to share everything they have.

They’re givers, by nature.

And they’re rich — if not exactly in the way of having a beach house and a yacht, you can bet your ass they’re chockful of abundance in the other areas that actually matter:

i.e., in mind, body and spirit.

As long as they’re living in alignment, that is.

So, in a world of Elons and Bezos’s, let us choose to be MacKenzie Scotts or Michael Bloombergs — or whichever billionaire isn’t a deplorable piece of shit.

Gate 45 is affiliated with Lakshmi, the radiant Hindu goddess of prosperity, wealth, luck, beauty and prosperity.

She’s the one you see in art depicted seated on or standing with a lotus flower.

This Sun transit is a reminder to all of us that we are each born with abundance,

that there’s plenty for everyone to share,

that “Everything is Figure-out-able,” as Marie Forleo says.

So, summons your inner Lakshmi and take your throne atop that lotus.

You behold the power to Rule over your own little swath of real estate,

even if that square-footage is confined to the dimensions of your kitchen table.

Regardless, this transit asks us to lead with compassion.

So, y’know, let’s.

If we’re operating at our highest vibration —

(i.e., living in alignment with the energetic powers we hold inside our bodies; operating with integrity; being authentic; standing in our power) —

we’ll be able to enjoy the high-vibe gifts available during this transit in Gate 45. Those include:

• demonstrating that we’re good stewards of whatever wealth/resources/knowledge we actually do possess
• ensuring that we’re compassionately providing for and protecting those under our supervision
• being generous with what we know and have;
• willing to teach, share and give
• excited to pay it forward, especially someone’s random act of kindness
• treating someone to a special gift
• feeling a sense of honor and duty to protect, serve & provide for our community
• seeing everything in life as ‘work-out-able’
• stepping up to the plate to exercise our privilege and power
• offering protection and safety when someone less powerful is being threatened

Some folks may, indeed, be operating from their Highest Selves right now, so this is what we can expect to see from them. Awesome! Well done!

Unfortunately, what we’re seeing instead, here on U.S. soil, at least, is Gate 45’s influence unfolding in the absolute lowest vibration possible.

Here’s what the shadowy parts of Gate 45 look like:

• Getting stuck in “lack” mentality
• Feeling as though there’s never enough wealth and that you can’t afford to share what you have
• Showing off/being ostentatious
• Micromanaging others
• Being dominating, domineering, controlling
• Not willing to trust anyone
• Insisting on doing it all yourself
• Demanding fealty
• Punishing and/or ejecting those who don’t bow down to you
• Hoarding resources
• Refusing to share
• Rejecting the responsibilities we have to our families and communities
• Arrogance
• Refusal to pitch in and be a team player
• Unwilling to acknowledge and/or diminishing the value of what others have to offer
• Being afraid; seeing all of life & everything in it as unsafe and unreliable
• Others know they can’t rely on or trust you

Any of this ringing a bell?

Yes, Dumpy Pants and Starboy BOTH have Gate 45.

But so does Kamala Harris and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Martin Luther King, Jr. had it, and Stephen Hawking, too, before he died. Eminem, Cory Booker and Brene Brown all have this energetic trait activated in them as well.

We caught a preview glimpse of Gate 45 energy at play last week, when Mercury, the planet that rules communication, made its transit through the Gate of the Ruler.

And didn’t we see Starboy and Dumpy Pants tweeting public jabs at each other all week?

Puffing their chests out, slinging accusations, attempting to prove who’s the more powerful leader? Aiming to demonstrate who holds more cards? Taunting one another to prove who has more supporters?

Gate 45 is Throat-activated energy that’s here to speak the voice, “I have.”

I have the proof.

I have the power.

I have the money.

I have immunity.

I have spaceships.

I have control of the military…

Yadda yadda yadda.

Gate 45 is also part of what’s called the Tribal-Ego Circuit in the Human Design system. All Tribal frequencies operate on a bargain basis. They like deals. They want their backs scratched, and that gets them to agree to scratch others’ backs.

45 also makes up half of the Channel of the Money Line, whenever it reaches the Heart Center to partner up with Gate 21, the Gate of the Hunter, a.k.a. Biting Through, which is the energy of a trustworthy manager.

If you have Gate 21 lit up in your chart, bonus points: you get access to the full Channel of the Money Line, this week.

Money, power and resource distribution will be at the forefront of your life during this transit, and both your Heart and Throat Center will feel ‘defined’ if they aren’t already.

Notice whether you feel more emboldened to speak, and whether you’re more boldly driven by your convictions throughout this transit.

Stay Grounded in the Energy of Integrity This Week

While the Sun hangs out in the Gate of the Ruler, Earth anchors itself in the frequency of Gate 26, the Gate of the Egoist, a.k.a. the Gate of Integrity.

This is the energy for maximizing resources — or not.

If you don’t ‘have’ this energy lit up in your chart, again, don’t make this personal. Learn from it. Observe it. Lean into your own natural strengths to keep you grounded — and focus especially on your Earth Gates. (Hit me up for a private reading if you need help and guidance in that regard. Either way, because of this unique frequency we’re all being influenced by, when you find yourself spinning out, you can get grounded by taking advantage of the Earth in Gate 26 right now.

Return to your center, take a deep breath, and get brutally honest with yourself.

Gate 26’s anchoring energy wants us to tell the truth. Be forthright. Share facts.

Under this energy, we can sell anyone a dream. Convince people to do anything for us.

But let’s not use that power for ill. Because it will definitely backfire.

Just be forthright. Admit wrongdoing.

Even if you caused some and dings and dents, fess up.

Don’t try to cover up your faults, because they’ll come back to haunt you eventually. Here are some more do’s and don’ts for navigating the energy of Integrity without letting your Ego get too big:

• Do the best you can with what you’ve got.
• Don’t overextend yourself.
• Share the burden.
• Call in helpers who can carry some of the load.
• Don’t bury your head in the sand.
• Be willing to grapple with the ugly stuff, but don’t overlook the good in things.
• Put in the least amount of effort you need to while still securing a decent return.
• Don’t be smarmy
• Don’t engage in puffery
• Don’t manipulate anyone or any situations just to add more to your pile of goodies.

Remember that not everything is about you.

You don’t have to go it alone. There’s (probably) a whole community around you, and they, too, have skills and resources they could be contributing to the effort.

So, work together alongside others and just be honest.
