Convincing Childhood ‘Truths’
When you were a kid, what were you convinced was true that you know, now, was pretty ridiculous?
When I was about 7, I developed a ‘truth,’ which I wholeheartedly believed, that kidnappers wore black leather gloves.
I know that’s silly now, of course. And I bring it up as an example of the kind of energetic influence we’re all under this week, as the Sun transits Gate 4, the Gate of Formulization, aka the Gate of Youthful Folly. aka the Gate of Answers.
This energy, which sits in the Mind or ‘Ajna’ Center, and which we’re all prone to experiencing this week (August 12-17, 2023), whether we have it defined in our Human Design charts or not, is constantly reaching for answers.
It needs to vanquish doubt. It gets anxious when it’s not sure of something. It’s driven by the desire to reach certainty, even when we all know that 100% certainty is basically impossible.
My childhood Mind had formulized a certainty that I would very likely be taken from my home and family by anyone wearing black leather gloves.
(That my family told me not to worry because any kidnapper who might ever nab me would surely give me right back because I was such a brat, is a whole different matter. Talk about conditioning and developing low self-worth, wowza!)
So, anytime I saw someone wearing black leather gloves, I’d scream, duck ‘n cover, or run away. Seriously.
See how the Mind can play tricks on us?
Obviously, we all know that kidnappers don’t necessarily wear black leather gloves.
(But they do drive creepy vans with paintings on the side, I’m still wicked certain of that.)
The ‘answer’ I had come to in order to rationalize away my fear of kidnappers was merely a formulization; not some actual hard truth.
Just like Gate 4: it’s conceptual only.
It may sound like it knows what it’s talking about, and it may be fully convinced it’s right.
That’s because this energy can make a person feel really destabilized and bothered in that oh-so-human state of not-knowing.
Gate 4 hates not having certainty. It wants to be ‘right.’ It perseverates even though it wants to be helpful. It tries to create order out of chaos so it can release the pressure of the Mind and move on with its life.
So it comes up with answers. Even if they’re [gasp!] wrong.
But it’s just formulizing.
Gate 4 plays out possibilities and unravels potential scenarios; that is all.
It’s not that it can’t be trusted to come up with real facts. It’s just that where it sits in the pesky Mind means its answers aren’t, typically, fully baked.
They haven’t been vetted and tested in the real world.
Vanquishing Mental Pressure & Doubt
When Gate 4 is fully connected in the Channel of Logic, it touches Gate 63, the Gate of Doubt.
Gate 63 energy is suspicious of pretty much everything.
It wouldn’t trust a nun with a first aid kit to tend its wound; not even in an emergency situation.
Gate 63 in the Head (aka Crown) raises doubts and pokes holes and demands proof on pretty much all topics.
And it winds up putting all kindsa pressure on poor Gate 4 to provide a sense of surety and proof.
Which means Gate 4 is constantly offering up ‘answers’ for why 63 might be able to trust that nun with all the Band-Aids.
Simply to release the mental pressure it’s under.

Just play in the realm of possibilities
So, if you find yourself experiencing mental pressure this week, blame the Sun!
Then remember that any answers you may be arriving at are simply potential possibilities.
They aren’t certainties. They aren’t facts. Nothing ever can be really certain. And you’re just under pressure to vanquish doubt.
Share your ideas, ‘answers’ and formulizations with others. Now is a great time for brainstorming sessions and future visualizing with your team or family.

Trust that you’ve got the germ of an idea that could create absolute magic in the future.
Just know that whatever scenarios you come up with will need to be vetted. They aren’t truths. They’re simply possibilities. Maybe beautiful ones!
(And if you’re like me, maybe paranoid ones!)
This week is not a great time for making firm decisions.
But it is a great time for playing in the realm of what’s possible!
If you can accept all the mental anguish for what it is over the next few days, and let yourself have a little fun formulizing some what-ifs, you’ll keep your head above water and do just fine.
