Parenting by Human Design Type: Manifesting Generator Moms

Parenting by Human Design Type is a series where we poke a little fun at ourselves based on our Human Design Energy Type! We’ll explore what parenting looks like, in real life, as far as how we interact with our children. This time we look at: Manifesting-Generator Moms!

Aligned Manifesting Generator Moms are are always responding to their environments and becoming inspired to try something new, so their kids grow up filled with imagination and a wide range of life experiences and skills.

Raising Kids as a Human Design Manifesting Generator

MG Moms, your kids are not afraid to engage in possibilities. That’s because you’ve taught them it’s life-giving to try new things, pick up new hobbies, and dabble in lots of different activities.

As an MG, you know better than anyone that life gets dull and boring without shaking things up a bit.

Which is why your kids are learning to examine themselves and their true passions–just like you do, Mom.

Well done!

When you’re in alignment–fully embracing your need to move fast, change gears, follow your right-now passion and let it go when it’s lost its luster–you inspire the rest of us to go for the gusto, too.

We bow down!

And that beauty in you breeds kids who also know how to have fun, unleash their own creativity, and find that thing that lights them up, too.

The Battery Pack You Came With

So, what is it that makes you light up and take off like a rocket ? It’s your defined Sacral Center. All Generators and Manifesting Generators have one.

It houses the innate battery pack you came with that self-charges whenever you see, hear, smell, taste, touch or even remotely become aware of something that gets you jazzed and excited.

Whether you receive an invite to go to the opera or see a billboard advertising a new gym, your Defined Sacral is constantly responding and letting you know whether that thing, for you, is a ‘yay’ or a ‘nay.’

Us non-Sacral types (Manifestors, Projectors and Reflectors) don’t have that. But, boy, do we wish we did sometimes.

When something’s a “Hell yes!” for you, then you’re drawn right to it, like the proverbial moth to a flame. That inner green-means-go light flashes on inside your gut and tells you, “I can totally do that. In fact, I totally want that!”

But, when something’s a “You-gotta-be-kidding-me” or a “Aw helllll no,” you’ll feel that, too.

The trick is to listen to the “nopes” and honor them. Because Sacral beings like you are known for being very prone to burnout when they keep doing stuff they don’t wanna do, just because, energy-wise, they can.

Remember: Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

So beware of burning your gorgeous light out.

(If you’re an MG, you’ve realized you’re burned out, or this description of MG’s does not resonate with you at all, don’t fret: A lot of people feel overwhelmed when they learn their design and worry they’re doing life wrong. BUT THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO BE! There is only what others throughout our lives that have made us believe things about ourselves that aren’t true and which knocked us off our path. Take it from one who’s been down that road: You, too, CAN heal and free yourself from others’ conditioning. You CAN step back into alignment with all the badassery that comes with you being who you REALLY are. Please reach out: I would be honored to support you through this journey.)

The Urge to Initiate

MG, have you been listening to your creative urges and desires? Have you been following through on your inspired downloads? Even if they seem to come out of nowhere?

Remember–you’re a hybrid. A powerful, awe-inspiring mashup, kind of like Frankenstein, between Generators and Manifestors.

So, not only are you being sent downloads from the Divine on what you could be doing next, half-blood Mani. You’re also lit afire by that sizzling Sacral, half-blood Gen.

That means your big hungry appetite for life wants to try all the things. Create all the inventions. Build all the things. Taste all the fritters. Gain mastery of all the hobbies.

So let it.

Don’t you dare put yourself in a box, MG Mama!

Your kids are watching. And when you’re in alignment, letting yourself break free from molds, and taking up all the space you need to build stuff and then smash it if that’s what you need to do?

THAT, my friend, is courage. Radiance. Opportunity.

Your children get to grow up witnessing that!

And then??? They follow in your footsteps!

HUZZAH!

Which is why forcing yourself to stick to one thing (job, label, hobby, group, etc.) your whole life would be disastrous for you.

It’s not natural, and it’s not how you’re built. You’d be bored to death staying in the same career or activity for very long, and you could slip into a dark depression.

And we don’t want to let that happen. Because you are divine radiance encased in flesh!

Own it, Mama!

When you honor your drive, curiosity and impulse to expand, your kids expand their understanding of the world, too.

MG, you are showing the next generation what’s possible. And that is freakin’ amazing.

Help? Did Somebody ask for Help?!

MG Moms, you’re so good at…well, everything…that you might feel compelled to jump in and save the day when you see someone struggling.

Like your kid(s), for example. When their homework is challenging. Or when they can’t tie their shoes.

It’s frustrating for you, more than for the other HD Types, to see anyone, not to mention your kids, suffering.

Especially when you’ve shown them a hundred times how to do the thing, gahhh.

But dearest MG, try to resist the urge to fix it or do it for them.

The only way kids really learn and gain confidence is by screwing something up for themselves and figuring it out on their own. Right?

A classic MG, however, can’t bear it. Watching them suffer is downright painful for you.

But y’all move faster than the rest of us. You pick things up more easily than others.

You are, by nature, efficient, and you’re always looking for ways to game the system and skip steps.

Especially when your children are a different HD Type than you, a little grace is required. A little extra time and patience, maybe.

When it comes to parenting, we gotta let the kids experiment in their own way; to engage in trial and error on their timeline.

You know better than anyone that, if you step in and work your magic just to speed things along? They just learn to become dependent on you.

And you definitely don’t want them calling you from their college dorm someday asking you to come over and do their laundry.

MG, when you’re in flow and aligned, and you’re in full recognition of your true gifts (and how they’re different from your kids’ gifts), you are cool as a cucumber as you letg the kids try things on their own.

Whether that’s making a mess of scrambled eggs all over the stove or missing every goal at the soccer game, you know that there are no mistakes. And that their attempts to skill-build (even the really messy ones) are their way of gaining mastery.

Which is totally your jam.

Now, you might develop a weird, temporary facial tick or an unsightly jerking reaction as you practice restraint here, MG.

But trust that it will prove fruitful when your kids start offering to make dinner for you on a regular basis–and to clean up the mess afterward, too!

Creating a World of Wonder

MG Moms, you deserve a huge heap of praise for cultivating a world of wonder for your kids.

What with all your energy and thirst for newness, your kids have no choice but to bask in the excitement of all life has to offer.

An aligned MG Mom like you isn’t one to spend the day on the couch. Nope: languishing in front of the screen ain’t how you operate.

It’s go-go-go for you. So you’re ensuring the kids get to touch, feel, smell and hear all the goodness that your community and the wider world around you has to offer.

As such, your children are growing up cultured, aware, street-smart, and familiar with all kinds of people.

Awesome!

Because your Sacral attracts and responds to all kinds of creative excitement, you draw people into your orbit who bring joy and satisfaction.

Which means your kids might get to see a symphony before their peers ever do. They might get the guts to slurp an oyster earlier than other kids. And they will probably have the wherewithal to run to the store, all by themselves, to pick up a gallon of milk for you sooner than other parents might allow.

Well done, MG! You’re raising independent, capable, inspired little beings! And goodness knows, the world needs more of them!
