No two people are alike. And when it comes to exchanging energetic vibrations, sharing space with one another’s aura, and tuning into one another’s frequencies?

Things can sure get messy.

Which is why friendship can be so utterly perplexing. Like it was for me for most of my life.

I sucked at friendships. I got kicked out of cliques. Got into huge, blowout arguments. Abandoned friends for no good reason.

I even skipped a girlfriend’s wedding just because I didn’t ‘feel like’ going to a wedding that day.

Talk about being a terrible friend.

But those days, I was also grappling with self-hatred at the same time. Shame. Fear.

I’d spent a lot of time in unhealthy relationships as a young adult, getting myself lost in a sea of psychological abuse, depression, lackful thinking and ‘why me.’

I didn’t understand my own energetics, and others in my life certainly didn’t either. It took a lot of years, a lot of self-reflection, journaling, therapy, exercise and a healthier lifestyle to finally slip into a more aligned way of being.

To finally re-learn how friendships work. What my role is. How I was supposed to operate.

Even then, I still found friendship hard. I’d get all excited about throwing a great party, make a ton of delicious food, decorate the place adorably. And the minute my guests would start to arrive, I wanted nothing more than to get the hell outta there.

I’d also find myself afraid to speak up. Afraid to share my views. There were already others in the group who were ‘the vocal ones.’ Who guided conversation topics and steered activities. So I’d just go along for the ride.

And I found that hard. Frustrating. Limiting.

But ever since I learned my Human Design, and all of these things started to make crystal-clear sense, my friendships have flourished.

Seriously, friends have crawled out of the woodwork. I’ve got gal pals I can call at moment’s notice whenever I need to vent or walk or cry. It’s bananas, and totally new for me.

Even though I’m still learning and growing, as I have stepped more and more into alignment, my relationships have gotten stronger. Closer. Deeper. More compassionate. More accepting. And a whole lot more fun.

Loneliness, for me, has become a thing of the past.

That’s because when we know our own Human Design–and even better, when we know our friends’–so many questions get answered. So much can be explained. So much truth gets revealed!

That’s because understanding why-we-are-the-way-we-are comes simply from awareness.

And that awareness can begin to get revealed by learning even the most basic, foundational element of our Human Design chart: Energy Type.

So, my new book, “Friendship Style by Human Design Energy Type,” published as an eight-episode serial on Kindle Vella, introduces readers to the 5 Energy Types in Human Design. And it does so through the lens of how each Type is likely to behave in friendship.

“Friendship Style by Human Design Energy Type” by Janeen Ellsworth is available on Kindle Vella now!

So if you’ve ever wondered why you could dance all night long but your friends are conking out before midnight, or if your bestie’s always trying to tell you what she thinks you should do and you don’t want to listen (even though she’s always right), this book will tell you why!

While things like life experience, conditioning, upbringing, and family values undoubtedly affect how we operate in life, generally, much of our behavior and tendencies come from our Human Design.

When we understand that–and we grasp that our design is on purpose, filled with gifts we’re meant to share and use to help us grow and flourish in life–we develop compassion: for ourselves and for our friends.

Of course, I couldn’t cover every different variation of the way people behave in friendship. And, of course, this waltz through Type can’t possibly include all the outliers imaginable out of all the billions of people on this glorious planet called Earth.

But I think you’ll find my depictions of each Energy Type to be revealing and thought-provoking about why people do the things they do in friendship, and how each of us plays our own, unique role in social settings.

Remember:

Manifestors are here to initiate new ideas and inform others what they’re up to.

Generators are here to respond to what’s happening around them and do whatever brings them joy.

Manifesting Generators are here to gain mastery, initiate new things, and respond to their environments (that includes people in their lives).

Projectors are here to guide, advise and prepare to share their wisdom.

And Reflectors are here to sample all the deliciousness of life and feel delight and surprise in the process.

What type are you? And what does all of this look like in the context of friendship?

Find out, in “Friendship Style by Human Design Energy Type,” available in serial format (for now!) on Kindle Vella. I hope to make it available as a full-length ebook very soon!

As always, I will keep you informed on any updates. For now, enjoy, and I’d love to hear your feedback!
