Lindsey was having a hard time soothing her son’s meltdowns. When he would get upset, her natural impulse was to stay by his side. She would offer words of support, lots of hugs, and keep asking him to explain what was wrong.
Like any great mom, she wanted to keep communication open so they could work through the problem together. But, as it turned out, that approach was all wrong for her son! The more she’d stay close, the angrier her little boy would get. He yelled louder, slammed doors and stomped away.
